Some of you may have heard of Racketlon which is an up and coming sport where you play your opponent at table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis. A Racketlon match contains 4 sets, one in each sport. The order of the sports is table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis (smallest to largest racket). The winner is the best all round racket player.
One game up to 21 or 11 points are played in each sport and after the four sports, total points are added up to decide the winner. Every point counts! To find out more click http://www.racketlon.co.uk/index.php. I am proposing to arrange a Racketlon competition but without the tennis since this maybe problem. Particularly since we do not have indoor tennis courts and the weather would be a big risk. I am call it Tri-Racketlon. The competition will be run over two days at the weekend, starting on Saturday and concluding on a Sunday depending on numbers. The cost will depend on the number of people interested, so at this stage I would like to gauge the likely up take of the competition. Can you please cast a vote on the poll on the Home page on the right so that we can have a rough idea if it is worth arranging? The competition is likely to be arranged in April sometime so it gives you all a little time to get some practise in. |
