Some of you may be aware that the Council and Inspire Leisure are considering getting rid of the squash courts in favour of improving the Gym facilities. This will be a complete disaster for the squash club and any squash player if this was to go ahead.

If you haven't as yet completed the survey yet, please do so as soon as possible, the link to the online survey is http://www.arun.gov.uk/main.cfm?type=HAVEYOURSAYSURVEYS. You can also pick up paper copies of the survey at the leisure centre, just right of the reception, opposite the toilets. I would urge everyone to fill it in. By the way, squash is not mentioned on the form, you will need to add it in "Other" and rank it accordingly. Please get anyone else you can think of to fill it in to help our cause. The closing date is this Fri 5th Oct.

There is also a drop in day this Tue 2nd Oct from 5pm to 7pm at Arun Leisure Centre, if you want to go along and ask them questions. Some of the Committee will be going along and I will keep you all updated on any developments.

This is a complete disregard of sports like squash which doesn't generate huge profits but provides a valuable community sport which enables physical activity and promotes community wellbeing and cohesion. Taking away the squash courts will reduce peoples choice of participating in different sporting activity and this cannot be right. Especially when the squash club has been there since the leisure centre was built and there are so many people (some not members of the squash club) playing squash at the leisure centre.

Thank you for your continued support.
